Alamo Metro Chorus is ecstatic to announce that our new Interim Director is Holly Janda!!
Holly is the baritone of the 2025 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champions, Clever Girl. Formed in 2023, Clever Girl hit the ground running—placing 6th at their very first International competition and winning the inaugural Barbershop Harmony Society Quartet Festival that same summer.
Holly has been singing with Sweet Adelines since 2009 and earned an International Gold Medal with the Rich-Tone Chorus in 2022. Along the way, she’s also sung with A Cappella Joy Chorus (Region 13) and Metro Nashville Chorus (Region 4), directed the 2014 Harmony, Inc. 6th place chorus OnQ, and competed with several quartets and choruses across Sweet Adelines and the Barbershop Harmony Society—including Renegade Quartet (two-time top-ten International finalist), Sound by Southwest, The Babysitters Club, and Party of Four.
She holds a Bachelor of Music from Eastern New Mexico University and loves sharing her passion for barbershop through teaching and coaching. Holly has attended and taught at events like Harmony College Northwest and recently taught with Clever Girl at the Sweet Adelines Judges Training, Jurassic Park, in July 2025. She’s also proud to serve as a section leader clinician for youth events.
When she’s not singing baritone, Holly is a Program Manager at Expedia Group and lives in Austin with her husband and five-year-old daughter. Her barbershop journey started as an eager high schooler learning baritone by listening to a Panache CD in her chorus teacher’s office—and as she says, “To say barbershop is a passion would be an understatement… it’s my life!”
